Subjects / courses and educational qualifications

I conduct Science classes for G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) – Grade 10 and Grade 11 students following the government syllabus. I hold a Special Degree in Botany from the University of Ruhuna and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from SLIIT, which strengthens both my subject knowledge and modern teaching methodology. My classes focus on: - Clear concept explanation - Step-by-step theory coverage - Past paper discussion and exam techniques - Structured revision programs - Model paper practice - Individual attention to improve weak areas Special attention is given to helping students who need support in understanding difficult scientific concepts, as well as guiding high-performing students to achieve A grades. Classes are conducted in a disciplined and student-friendly environment to ensure strong academic improvement and confidence in Science. I am a highly experienced Government School Science Teacher with over 15 years of continuous teaching experience in the field of Science education at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (Grade 10 and 11). I hold a Special Degree in Botany from the University of Ruhuna, which has provided me with strong subject knowledge in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, and related scientific disciplines. My academic background enables me to teach Science with deep conceptual understanding rather than superficial coverage. In addition, I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from SLIIT, which has strengthened my professional teaching skills, educational psychology knowledge, classroom management techniques, modern teaching methodologies, and student assessment strategies. Throughout my 15+ years of service in government schools, I have: - Successfully prepared students for G.C.E. O/L examinations with excellent results - Guided students to achieve A and B grades in Science - Helped average and weak students significantly improve their performance - Conducted structured revision programs and exam-focused training - Provided individual guidance to students facing learning difficulties - Maintained high academic standards and disciplined classroom environments
