At HCI the curriculum is based on both the British and the Local system of education and therefore designed to provide your child a well rounded education which places equal importance on academic as well as extracurricular activities. HCI consists of three schools The Infant School The Primary School The Secondary School The curriculum of the infant school is a well balanced one comprising of the best practices derived from Montessori and Pre-School methods. Elementary The emphasis here is placed on developing individual skills and group activity. Primary [Grade 1-5] The curriculum here consists of English, Mathematics, Science, Sinhala/Tamil, Computer Studies [from age 4 onwards], Environmental Studies, Religion, Art, Music, Dancing, Speech and Drama. Instructional Style of CurricularAll classes follow a clearly defined programme of studies based on a written curriculum that emphasizes key skills relating to both British and Local requirements.
